Carl Brown, Garrett Professor in Foreign Affairs Emeritus at Princeton University: "Looking At Ourselves Looking At Islam" with Dr. Musa Shteiwi, Wright State University Fulbright Visiting Specialist Serving as Respondent.

    Russ Engineering, room 144, 4:00-6:00 pm Dr. Brown is a historian of the modern Near East and North Africa with special emphasis on the Arab world. A member of the Princeton faculty from 1966 to 1993 he was long director of the interdisciplinary Program in Near Eastern Studies. He is author of many books, including Religion and State: The Muslim Approach to Politics (2000), and editor of Diplomacy in the Middle East: The International Relations of Regional and Outside Powers (2001).

  • Viewing Documentary "CAN YOU HEAR ME? ISRAELI AND PALESTINIAN WOMEN FIGHT FOR PEACE" Lilly Rivlin, Producer, Writer and Director; Debra Winger, Narrator. "Can You Hear Me? Israeli and Palestinian Women Fight for Peace” writer and director, Lilly Rivlin will be showing this film and answering questions after the film, joined by Dr. Musa Shteiwi, University of Jordan, 2010 Wright State University Visiting Fulbright Specialist.

  • Viewing the documentary Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think followed by a Lecture by Dr. Musa Shteiwi discussing "Conducting Opinion Polls in Jordan: What Jordanians Have to Say."
    Date and Place: Tuesday February 2, 2010 3:00 pm, place TBA followed by a Farewell Reception for Dr. Shteiwi.
